Father's - what now?

My parents moved to sunny California this weekend. They left with no more than 5 suit cases and some words reminding me to brush my teeth and wear clean underwear. It's kind of odd seeing your parents off. Usually it's the child leaving for a different city in a different state or country even. My parents even in their last moments here in Chicago held true to all the cliches. My Mother was emotional and my Father stoic. The funny part was the drive home. It was some 90's weekend on one of the stations and a song came on. That Baz Lerman "everybody's Free To Wear Sunscreen" song came on and I hadn't heard it in so long. A lot of the man's speech referred to family and how you should be good to them. It really hit me that my parents are there more than here. Today I called my father to wish him a happy fathers day. His cell phone off and no where to be found, My brother busy tending to his youngest one. With 20 minutes left in the day I've yet to speak with my father! That's ok I guess it's only a made up holiday to sell recliner with back massagers and universal remote controls. So I am just going to wish every man who has a legitimate and/or little bastard son or daughter out there HAPPY FATHERS DAY!
